Tacos at a Cape Breton Wedding ::: Heather & Brad
Do you see the trend? I do a lot of outdoor, backyard weddings and I love them.
It’s not just a trend for me as a photographer, weddings are changing shape, like they always have. Trends come and go, styles, fads, etc. However, being immersed all things weddings, I have come to the realization that the outdoor, barn, theatre or unique and different style wedding is how things are going forever.
They keep getting more diverse, more personal, more of an expression of the couple. Less guests, but more how the guests are treated, different styles of foods, desserts, drinks. When is the last time you had tacos at a wedding?
Tacos at a wedding! Heck yes, and that is exactly what Heather & Brad did, and they did it on Heather’s parents beautiful property in Big Pond, tying their knot on an amazing peninsula surrounded by their most favourite people in the world. I was lucky enough to be part of this day, and loved every minute of it.
I was super excited about this wedding from the start, it is the type of wedding I love to shoot. Everything lined up so perfect. A “first look” got most of the photos out of the way early on in the day and we ended up with a load of extra time, not rushing around which gives me some time to experiment with different things and have some fun.
I also got to shoot this wedding with Margaret Jourdan Studios, Jourdan and her assistant MacKenzie were great to work with! I can’t wait to see her video from the day. Check her site out!
Shout out to Heather & Brad! Thanks a bunch for trusting me with your special day!
