Hey everyone! My printer has let me know the deadlines for ordering photos for Christmas.

If you need to have them back for Christmas day you will have to have them ordered before the 14th of December for regular type prints and albums. Canvas orders must be in before the 10th of December.

Due to high demands in prints and everyone going nuts for Christmas we really appreciate having the orders in before then! This way your mom will be super happy on Christmas morning when there is a photo on the wall, and not just a piece of paper saying the photos are on the way!

Thanks everyone! Hope your holiday season will be awesome!

Hey Scott,
Just wondering how long it takes to view your pictures after they are taken to place an order? I have a session booked for the 11th.
Thanks!

What a fun day and total success! Here is the crew. We set out to shoot 9 sessions in 9 different spots and we did it. Although Denise brought along her man and made it 10, we are ok with that! haha

We made some cash to donate to the Every Woman's Centre and had a great time, everyone was on time or early and we did it all super fast. I'm very much ready for bed now though, and am just starting my evening appointments!

I had a good laugh and met some cool new people as well. Thanks to all you guys who took part and made a silly idea a success! The phone didn't stop ringing, and that gave us more ideas! So stay tuned for even more!

For some reason the Every Woman's Centre really hits a soft spot for me, not really sure why, but it does. I will be doing more things in the future to raise funds for them!

Hope you all had fun guys! Here is Cody, Tigh, Bridget, Poppy, Kaliee, Denise and Shawn, Shaylynn, Regan and Max!

Today we booked 9 sessions with 9 different people and we will shoot them in 9 different locations! Why?....why not? It's a cool date and I had some openings because I have a lot of late sessions this evening...

I wanted to grab 9 shots, and put them all together for a unique blog post. I will just give the clients a few shots on a CD to keep, but they have to each give me $9 to donate to the Every Women's Centre in Sydney. If anyone wants to buy prints from the sessions, I will donate that money as well.

They are just basically mini-shoots...about 10 minutes each....with the intent to capture a nice portrait to include in this idea.

Anyway, stay tuned for the photos!

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

That is the quote I kept in the back of my mind for a long time...

Tomorrow (September 2nd) is exactly the date I officially opened the studio last year. Doesn't seem like such a huge deal now, but one year ago, it was. When I thought ahead of what it would be like in a year, or if we would even make it one year...it was pretty scary.

I won't lie, this is by no means a cake walk. It was and is a massive learning experience! It was my dream for a very long time to own my own studio and do my own thing, the way I wanted. I basically jumped into this decision blind, and went with it. When I first started, I didn't realize how much was involved. How much help I would need and how much more there was to owning a studio than just being a photographer.

My workflow grew beyond my wildest dreams, long hours and lots of new clients. I went from doing 2 - 5 photo shoots a week, to 2-5 a day. I had to focus on new ideas, new products, top notch customer service and going above and beyond what I have been used to. It has been hard, but it has also been amazing and very rewarding. I have met so many new people and made so many new friends and for that I am very grateful.

So this blog post to dedicated to all those who have helped me along the way, my printer Atlantic Photo Supply, any suppliers, assistants, accountants, business advisors, book keepers, people like Jason Lefrense, Mike "Sheppy" Shepherd, Robert Provencher, The Secret (thanks Matt), all my friends who helped in any way, Helen and of course Beno.

But most of all, this is for my clients, without you and your support and kindness I would not be where I am today, I would not have this studio, or the life I do have. For that, I am forever grateful...thank you!

Here is to many more years of capturing memories for you and your life....

We all knew years ago Scotty, that your studio would be a great success--simply because you're so passionate about what you do. That is very clear in every photograph you take. It's mentioned in most photo blogs and forums, but you really have raised the bar in Atlantic Canadian Photography (and beyond, in my opinion) We're all super proud of you and what you've been able to accomplish. Keep pushing it and trying new things. Congrats on year 1 of many more to come!

Check out this bad boy. Here are a few quick shots of Sharon and Justin's album from Jamaica. This is a pano album, closed it measures 20" wide by 8" high..so when you open it, you get a massive 20" by 16" album!

This makes for massive spreads of key images from the day! Anyway, check it out! This is the grand daddy of albums! I almost didn't want to send it to them!

Another blogshow, use your arrow keys or manually click the images on the bottom!
