Ben is JUST about strong enough to be using SLR cameras now, so this is his very first shot! He took this yesterday, and its really not all that bad. He may have trouble with the focus point, but I have to give him credit! I made it black and white to make it artsy, because we all know if you make a photo black and white...it becomes art! haaha

Well if was finally my turn, for a wedding. Well, it was the second time, same girl, different location. We were officially married on March 12th in Cape Breton in a quiet ceremony so that my Dad could be present. He passed away just 15 days later, I'm very happy we made the decision to do it.

We kept with our original plans of having our wedding in Punta Cana, and I'm sure my Dad would have wanted it that way. I will say, he was greatly missed at this event.

I just wanted to pop up a few photos on the blog that I snapped during our week away. We had some of the most amazing friends attend, and for that we are forever grateful. It was really the week of our dreams, everything worked out awesome except for a bit of rain on the wedding day, and my son Ben not wanting his Momma to be in a dress or have make up on...but that is just one of those things that happens with children who are 2.5! haha

I want to also mention that our friends and photographers Alex and Kate MacAulay did an absolute outstanding job, the level of professionalism has me now pulling up my socks. Thanks so much guys, you are both one of a kind! We can not wait to see the photos!

November 20, 2009

I have decided to join a global movement that is bringing much needed attention to prostate cancer.  I'm doing this by growing a Moustache this Movember, the month formerly known as November. My commitment is to grow a moustache all November and I am hoping that you will support my efforts by making a donation.  The funds raised go directly to Prostate Cancer Canada.

What many people don't know is that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer to afflict Canadian men with 25,500 diagnosed and 4,400 dying from the disease each year.

Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved.

To make a donation, you can either:

•    Click this link http://ca.movember.com/mospace/186435/ and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account , or
•    Write a cheque payable to 'Prostate Cancer Canada', referencing my Registration Number 186435 and mailing it to: Prostate Cancer Canada, 145 Front Street East, Ste. 306, Toronto, ON M5A 1E3, Canada.

All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Prostate Cancer Canada will use the money raised by Movember for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer.

For more details on how the funds raised from previous campaigns have been used and the impact Movember is having please go to http://ca.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs/.

Thank you

So, for the longest time I wanted to grow Ben's hair long, but it is just too straight! The back was becoming a mullet of the century! So, I felt bad, and put the word out that he needed a cut. It was getting so long!

Aunty Di (or T-Di as Ben calls her) came over and did it up. I really like it, I used to think he looked saucy with short hair, but it totally suits him now!

During Mark and Kellie's wedding, Benn decided he would pose it up during a few test shots outside of the reception venue...so here he is. I thought this shot was hilarious and just had to post it for all to see!

Another cool story, when Helen and I were naming our son Ben, it was the only name we could agree upon. I agreed because when I hear a name, you always think of someone you know with that name, but there was only one guy I knew personally and it was this guy humping the concrete pole. When I thought of Benn, all I could think of was how great of a guy he is, so it was a fine name in my books. We spelled Ben's name different though...

Here he is...humping away! hahaha...thanks for the good laughs Benn!

Benn was always a handsome little boy who grew into a very handsome young man; I haven't seen Benn since The Olden Days...
Benn, I'm seeing both Mum and Dad in your face.
Please remember me to your Mum and to Josh and Adam too.
Hugs, Loulou
